Eat oily fish at least twice a week - its one of the best sources of protein and provides a generous source of vitamins and minerals. Examples are makerel, plaice, salmon, pilchards and if your hardcore, EEL!
Fitness Assessments are a series of exercises against the clock based on the Army Fitness Test, which we have adapted to suit our membership. It is voluntary, but is used as a way of monitoring your progress whilst training with British Military Fitness.Assessments are held every month, normally in the last week of the month and will be confirmed by your class instructors. There is no need to complete a Fitness Assessment before you attend your free trial but the table below gives a rough idea of which ability level you should start at.
Assessments run alongside normal classes so you choose whether or not you wish to do it.
The Assessment
The Assessment is a great workout in itself and consists of a series of basic exercises designed to test strength and stamina:A timed 1500 metre run (best effort)
Maximum repetitions over a 2 minute period for each of: Sit ups, Press ups and Burpees
15 x 20 metre shuttle sprints (best effort)
Each of the five units is marked out of 100, see below. The scoring system is as follows:
